About the Event

This month's guest speaker is Steve McLaughlin from Stiddard Wealth UK

Steve McLaughlin is a business owner who has been running successful businesses since 2004 and recently discovered at age 50 he has ADHD. His background is in IT, security and financial services.

He joined the Royal Air Force in 1990 and spent just under 10 years serving in the field of telecommunications, IT and security.

Upon leaving the armed forces, he decided to change occupation and moved into Financial Services, working for HSBC until 2004.

During this time, he learnt about personal and business finance, which resulted in him setting up his first financial services company specialising in Mortgages, Pensions and investments in 2005 (McLaughlin Hook Ltd), and he later sold his shares in the company in 2011.

He then started another financial services company in 2012 (Stiddard Wealth UK Limited), which is currently going from Strength to Strength, whereby he manages and invests circa £22 million of clients’ money. He has also branched out into Europe since being resident in France since 2018 and is now building a European-based financial services practice based on the already successful UK model.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife, motorcycles, sailing, and extreme sports to date, he has 27 free fall parachute jumps under his belt, and his latest charity achievement is abseiling down the Iconic Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth in 1 minute 43 seconds.

The purpose of these monthly support groups is to provide support to those adults who have symptoms of ADHD. In addition, they are for those who are interested in learning how to thrive in adulthood despite ADHD symptoms. Friends, partners and family members are welcome to join us.

During the adult ADHD meetings, we will share strategies and ideas that may help you to manage your challenges while dealing with ADHD. There will be an opportunity for members to introduce themselves to each other and to ask questions in a relaxed environment without the fear of judgment.

You don't need to have a confirmed diagnosis to attend. Let us guide you through the process if you want assistance assessing your diagnosis.

We look forward to seeing you.

Regards,

Bernadette.
