UNDERSTAND ADHD ASSESSMENT OPTIONS

Local NHS Assessment

This may be suitable if:
• You would prefer to use your local NHS ADHD service
• Paying privately would be difficult
• You are comfortable with the local referral process and possible waiting time
• You would prefer assessment and treatment to remain within local NHS services
Right to Choose England Only

This may be suitable if:
• You are registered with a GP in England
• Your GP agrees that an ADHD assessment is clinically appropriate
• You would like to consider an eligible NHS-contracted provider
• You understand that waiting times, medication and follow-up arrangements differ between providers
Private Assessment

This may be suitable if:
• You would like a greater choice of the clinic or specialist
• You are looking for a potentially shorter waiting time
• You are able to fund the assessment and any ongoing treatment
• You have checked the full costs, clinical qualifications, medication arrangements and approach to shared care
