About the Event
Celebrating 15 Years of ADHD Lancashire
15 Years of Making Positive Connections
This November, ADHD Lancashire is celebrating a very special milestone, 15 years of supporting adults, families and the wider ADHD community.
What began in 2011 has grown into a community built around something that has always been at the heart of ADHD Lancashire: bringing people together, helping people understand ADHD, and creating spaces where people feel heard, supported and connected.
To mark our 15th anniversary, we’re bringing our community together for a special celebration evening with guests, entertainment, food, conversation and, of course, plenty of laughter.
From support to community
Over the past 15 years, we have had the privilege of meeting and supporting so many people at different stages of their ADHD journey.
Some came to us wondering whether ADHD might explain experiences they had struggled with for years. Others arrived following a diagnosis, looking for information, understanding and practical support. We have welcomed partners and family members who want to understand their loved one better, as well as adults simply looking for a place to meet people who understand.
Our adult meet-ups have been an important part of that journey for 13 years, providing a regular place for people to come together, share experiences and realise they are not the only people facing similar challenges.
Over the years, there have been countless conversations, questions, shared experiences, friendships, moments of recognition and plenty of humour along the way.
Today, our community continues to meet both face-to-face in Chorley and online through our monthly Zoom meet-ups, allowing us to welcome adults from Lancashire and much further afield.
More than a meet-up
ADHD Lancashire has continued to grow alongside the needs of the people we support. Over the years, this has included support around understanding ADHD and diagnosis pathways, adult ADHD programmes, specialist ADHD coaching, workplace and Access to Work support, practical resources, events and opportunities to learn from others with lived experience.
But behind every programme, coaching session, resource and meet-up is a person.
A person who is trying to understand themselves a little better.
A family looking for answers.
Someone newly diagnosed and wondering, “What happens now?”
Someone who has spent years feeling different finally meets people who say, “I understand.”
Those individual stories and connections are what these 15 years really represent.
A celebration of everyone who has been part of the journey
Our anniversary evening is an opportunity to celebrate how far ADHD Lancashire has come, but more importantly, to celebrate the people who have made the journey possible.
Whether you attended a meet-up years ago, joined one of our programmes, received coaching or support, came along with a partner, recommended us to someone else, worked alongside us professionally, or have simply followed and supported what we do, you are part of the ADHD Lancashire story.
The evening will bring together people from across those 15 years, with special guests, entertainment, food, and time to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate.
It will also be an opportunity to look ahead to the next chapter and continue what we started all those years ago:
Making Positive Connections.
We would love you to join us as we celebrate 15 years of ADHD Lancashire, 13 years of adult meet-ups, and a community that continues to grow, connect and support one another.
Here's to the people we have met, the friendships that have formed, the conversations that have mattered, and all the positive connections still to come.
We look forward to celebrating with you.
Warm regards,
Bernadette Ashton
